I'm thinking about close relationships (romantic, close friends, or family), what are good relationships like? How does communication work in good relationships? What leads to good communication in a close relationship?What are your views and expectations for relationships?

O wow what a big question.





Although everyone is different and would have their own viewpoints. Here are mine:





1) Good realtionships have a strong foundation and a lot of trust





2) There is a lot of respect and love in good relationship. Real love. Love is something that comes from within and is based on genuine caring and best wishes for each other.





3) Good realtionship need a lot of understanding. You have to understand sometimes life happens and you just have to accept your failures. If a relationship is strong, the couples would stick by each other and not leave at the earliest sign of trouble.





4) Good Communication comes from the heart. If you're true and open, and really are not trying to put one over the other, then you'll be fine.

Good question. Hmm... oddly, I can't sum it up easily!





My husband and I have very good communication. We solve all of our problems, rather than having the same argument over and over. We don't go to bed mad, even if it means staying up until 2am on a work night working things out. We touch while sorting out a problem... for some reason, it's easier to fix something that's wrong when you're being affectionate toward the other person.





We also respect each other as adults, and respect each other's right to an opinion, even if we don't always agree. We both try to focus on fixing the problem, rather than proving who's ';right.'; We both desire to become better people, for ourselves, and for each other. We both think of ourselves as works in progress, rather than having an attitude of, ';This is who I am, and I'm not changing, so take it or leave it.';
