I just got a very abusive relationship. I have been inspired to have a Christian organization for young women to turn to for group support, counseling, and more. How can I get this started?How do a start a non profit organization for healthy relationships?
Instead of starting something new, why not just work with another organization? That way, you get to actually do the work you enjoy -- working with people -- rather than the work of running an organization, like fund raising, management, bookkeeping, producing a website, etc.





That said, to start a nonprofit, you would create a board of directors, a team of 12-15 people who would help you create the organization. You would file papers to incorporate in your state and either file for a 501(c)(3) (U.S. tax deductible status) or find another organization to sponsor you, called a ';fiscal sponsor.'; I'd find a church and start a program within that church, and then they can handle all the details like accounting and you can do the work you want.
