I think it all really depends on the stage someone is in. Being single and meeting people is great, and I believe that everyone should have the chance to experience it before getting hitched. You learn a lot about yourself, what you like or don't like in a partner, and are able to try new things, live anywhere you want, because you don't have to consult any of your life decisions with a partner! It's a great time to develop your independence, identity, and sense of self.
On the other hand, if you're ready for a committed relationship, it's not a bad thing, either -- just be sure you are a whole person when you get in it, you're ready to give, compromise and understand an individual who's a whole lot different from yourself.

it depends - at the moment i am happily committed in a year and a half relationship - but if i was single i would do the dating game.its a great way to meet new people and see what they are like

I would suggest taking some time to let your heart heal. Dating can suck but sometimes that is when you find your true soulmate.
