Do relationships that begin at work every truly work out?

I want to have a girlfriend. But I am a little hesitant about asking a girl out at the workplace. Do they work out though? I mean from someone who has done this before? How did you do it?Do relationships that begin at work every truly work out?
Some work out, some don't (like most relationships). Some companies don't allow this. If you value your job, you might want to avoid workplace relationships.
