How do you make long distance relationships work ?

I met a girl and she only lives 45 minutes away but we talked and she said the only thing hanging over are heads is the distance, cause her parents are up in there age and she is 1/2 hour to them from her place and about a hour and fifteen minutes from me. So what are options in making this work ? I am stable here and she would probably move here but again her parents and her friends.How do you make long distance relationships work ?
um i am thinking 45 min is not long distance i know a guy 1800 miles away
