How do you make long-distance relationships work?

We've been together for 4 months, and he's moving to another province for 8 months.

What are the best ways to keep our relationship alive? How do you make long-distance relationships work?
8 months? wow! just get webcam so you can have live chat, text alot, email, call. tell him every thing going on in ur life. be loyal, trust and have faithHow do you make long-distance relationships work?
You both decide whether or not you are going to remain committed to each other or if you are breaking up due to the fact it would be a LDR.

Most LDR's are plagued with the jealousy and commitment issues that can undermine a healthy relationship. When doubt and jealousy starts to become a problem in your long distance relationship you can easily figure out how to have a HAPPY LDR and be loving to each other while you are apart till that day comes you can be together again.

There's a resource for learning the problems that arise and how to easily deal with them if you choose to be in an LDR
8 months is not actually that long if you two do it right.

keep contact everyday, even just a text message when you having lunch break, or say hi via cell, and sweet emails from time to time. and of course cam every week.

send him small gifts as suprise. visting each other some time.

i'm sure only if you love each other very much, and try to live by yourself, organize your time well, but not thinking of him all the time. you'll survive.
I agree with Heidi however i feel that over time you come to realize that when you are in a LDR there is nothing you can do but trust the other person so eventually (if you can make it) the whole jealousy and doubt issues go away, i mean worrying 24-7 can make a person go mad, i know for me personally it used to be extremely hard for me to trust my bf b/c he is an extremely good catch, but now (after several big arguements) im just like i know that he loves me and he is with me b/c he want to be....if not he probally would have broken up with me a loonnnnnnnnnnnng time ago...
